FROM BUILDING TO WORK OF ART: JEWELLERY FROM THE FAÇADE OF THE KUNSTHAUS GRAZ
CREATING A JEWELLERY LINE FROM CONSTRUCTION WASTE.
THE KUNSTHAUS GRAZ WAS BUILT AS PART OF THE CAPITAL OF CULTURE YEAR 2003 AND HAS SINCE BECOME A NEW ARCHITECTURAL LANDMARK IN THE CITY OF GRAZ. THE PLANNERS OF THE PROJECT, THE LONDON ARCHITECTS PETER COOK AND COLIN FOURNIER, WRAPPED THE INNOVATIVE STRUCTURE IN TRANSLUCENT ACRYLIC.
WE PROCESSED THE OFFCUTS OF THE ACRYLIC CLADDING INTO A JEWELLERY LINE. EACH PIECE IS MADE BY HAND - A SMALL SCULPTURE, CUT FROM A PIECE OF ARCHITECTURE.
